The Calvary Church was built and dedicated in 1896. In 1946 it became the Calvary Evangelical United Brethren Church. The building was extensively remodeled in 1951 and 1952. Rededication of the church took place in September 1952. In 1970 Calvary became the Calvary United Methodist Church with the uniting of the Methodist and Evangelical United Brethren churches. A new addition was built in 1969 through 1972 with a new educational unit and worship overflow area. The Educational Unit was dedicated in 1972 debt free. The church's main building was bricked in 1973. In June 1992 a new large sanctuary and social room was dedicated. Most work and materials were donated by members of the congregation. A new handicapped accessible entrance was added in 1997. Beginning in November 2004 many new improvements were begun outside the church building. New heating and air conditioning were put in during the Spring of 2005. A large picnic pavilion including the children's playground equipment was built in July 2005.
